I’m an artist, designer, linguist and technology researcher. Weaving in my background in visual design, I use interactive media to create, evaluate, and iterate technology into more thoughtful programs to provide environmental awareness and represent marginalized stories. Through digital media, I aspires to create poignant characters and immersive worlds that examine the boundaries of technology and the arts.

Growing up agnostic in a Roman Catholic family, much of my early exposures to art were of religious backgrounds, but my artistic interpretations remain secular. I aim to illustrate this tension between secularity, religion, familial bonds and tradition within this piece by inserting both my own artistic narrative. Utilizing digital imaging and databending techniques, I aim to further subvert the original images by intermixing screenshots of the text editor to title the works.

As a computational linguist, I paid careful attention to the syntax of the naming scheme of each image and object in the space-- both internally in my own process while building the exhibition and externally for the viewer to observe. Photographs of traditional artwork are surrounded by solid lines | |, indicating their separation from but brief capture by the digital. Items that are static but still digitally created such as databent images or 3D models, are named with a pair of brackets [ ] surrounding them. Interactive links are given the curly brackets { } to indicate the transportive nature of their interaction. Sound has been given a parentheses ( ) marking to emphasize it's circular encompassing of the space.
