Catalog view is the alternative 2D representation of our 3D virtual art space. This page is friendly to assistive technologies and does not include decorative elements used in the 3D gallery.
*WARNING FLASHING COLORS AND LOUD SOUNDS*
The initial concept behind this project was to illustrate how mass media and technology have altered how our brains function through the use of 3D models with a colorful “glitched” aesthetic to represent something that has been negatively altered. The project is also prompts viewers reflect on their overconsumption of mass media by visualizing the detrimental effects it has on our psyche.
The cluttered environment creates overwhelming overstimulation of the senses with the use of sound and visuals, in order to replicate the state of mind technology has brought to us today.
Viewers are encouraged to explore and interact with the entirety of the space to create a more meaningful experience. There are various prompts visually and in the descriptions to catalyst reflection on how this over-consumption of “virtual material” affects how they perceive themselves in the “real” world.
Pieces of who you are getting lost, manipulated, or transformed in the digital world, leaving a broken shell of who you once were. Do you find your self acting different online?

*The External Link Leads You to a Mini-Game made with P5.js* We all have special and joyous moments in our lives and often wish that we could relive those moments. We can in our memories! We can remember every detail whether it is big or small and recall each person who was there. The memories immortalized in your mind, never to be forgotten… Or can they? The human mind is malleable and can easily change or forget a memory. Those memories often erode and change away with the sands of time, glitching our memories of better times.
Before you enter the space, you will notice different questions and prompts connected to different pieces of work. Answer these questions in the guest book to make the experience more memorable. Thank you and enjoy the work :)
As we remember each memory, we recall a different version of the same thing. With the addition of technology, our memories transform at a different rate. We have images and videos of the past yet we are unable to recall the memory associated with each technological preservation. Branching off into different realities of the past.
The screens of technological devices transport you into a space that seems far from reality...

Seeing too much, Listening to too much, And feeling too much can cause you to make your own realities.

The purpose of this exhibition is to illustrate the overstimulation of the brain caused by the increased use of mass media and the effects it has on the human psyche. There will be several pieces that invoke the meshing of the virtual and real world, the functionality of the brain such as memory and attention, and broken identity.
