QUAD and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) invited QUAD participants and the general public to become Citizens of Robot World for Robot Day 2021. This open call exhibition invited audiences to make something robot related along the theme of “Building a better world”. Submissions took the form of 3D models, 2D drawings, animation and physical objects scanned using photogrammetry.
In this first room, QClubbers and their families worked with artist Paul Davis to produce their own 'junk modelling' robots. Using glue guns, recycled materials and lots of imagination, QClubbers designed and created an amazing range of QClub robots.
QClub is a BBC Children in Need fund project that runs as part of QUADs Creative Wellbeing programme, for children and young people on the autistic spectrum, with disabilities or additional support needs.
This space is a 3 dimensional gallery space, with white walls and grid like windows in the ceilings. Doors between the spaces are blue and transparent. There are still objects on display of robots made by participants, as well as animated robots moving in the spaces.
