Statement:

This room contains robots made as part of QUAD's Summer Make and Take workshops, where families worked with artist Helen Jackson to create craft based robot designs. Some of these robots were scanned using photogrammetry, as well as photographed for display.

Also included in this room is the animation submission 'A Friend for Spanner', as well as photographed robots made at home and a British Tea Robot serving refreshments.

Nobody said colonising Mars would be easy. Clank and Spanner have been preparing the ground and the humans are on the way. Soon they’ll land and take over from their faithful robots. But Treevil, the wheely evil robot, has different ideas.

Method: Stop motion animation using a construction set, magazine cuttings, crafting foam, coloured foil and reclaimed building materials.
