Artwork Description:

Satellite is not only an animation work, but also a VR interactive work. It's an experiment I've done with emotion, animation, and interaction. The video is an image I recorded as I was traveling around in a virtual scene.

I read Borgesโ€™s time and eternity, and the time he felt in his memories of his family members, his home, his place of residence. The motivation for my creation is to honor my two relatives who have just passed away, grandpa and grandma. The first time I saw a loved one leave, the first time I looked at death so closely, I didn't even have time to say goodbye. I can't forgive myself for not remembering the last time I saw them. So much so that I want to go back to the days when they were still there at least once to see them again, hug them... But all that remained were old things and vague memories that now seemed invaluable to me. Sometimes I began to have confusion and fear of time, fear it silently take away all. Sometimes it gives people the illusion that time is moving at different speeds and at different paces, turning people around in bewildering circles. The past, the present, and the future, alternate cycles erase everything. So what I can do seems to be to draw, carve, record and keep the most impressive things in my memory while I still have some short and fragmentary memories.
At the same time, I also want to cut and reassemble the time, blurring the boundary between the past, the present and the future, and preserving the eternity of a moment. I hope this work can always remind me that what I have lost is exactly what I once had. I can face and accept the past and calmly face the time. In general, based on the commemoration of my loved ones, I have some thoughts about the dislocation of the pace of time in my life. I hope to amplify this dislocation through my works, and blur the boundary of time and the boundary between the past, present and future through the "portal" in VR space.
