The Day We Intertwined

Gyre is an exploration of the rising gyre of gender euphoria and dysphoria using liminal intimate sounds shared over Signal with a romantic partner installed in a grid scattered through an abstract space with slightly negative gravity. The audio is spatial and each levitation through the loop will uncover different combinations of sounds.

Seeping in like water, sloshing through locks and dams into peripheral vision and involuntary vocalization. Dysphoria the unnameable, euphoria the uncountable.

Refracted on platonic solids are disembodied fragments of a portrait that rang. Mom's pearls and my first tattoos: an anchor and a garbled DNR in morse code. My new voice, hidden among the protean angles, no longer probes but inhabits a register.

Seeing myself in glittering fragments which slowly move into my awareness as if from nowhere and retreat. The broken manifold becomes more continuous. Searching in the angles, points of light project widening gradients until the edges intersect. Yes, I am starting to see a face in there.

My secret vocal training in sighs and particles. His bedroom voice is mine everywhere. You can either cut the cord or choose not to use it.

I'm thinking in tongues
I remember everything.
I mouthed the words of our favorite song.

‘I’ - the true essence of existence is not just the human bodies which  we are using to experience the physical realities or memories generated by human brains. How we redefine and re-experience our memories - a way to re-create our own histories - can reconstruct new versions of ourselves in presence and near future.

     The human bodies are just like the boats of our souls and fates, which can let us experience physical realities and protect our spirits. However, the nature function of reincarnation - a kind of amnesia - will also let us forget our past lives again and again. So remember it, as you feel lost sight in this adventure, just look inside your heart, there will have a path which can lead you go back to ‘Home’, the origin of our coexistence.

     Humankind is a creature motivated and limited by stories. Through ‘Tower of Revival’(轉生塔) - the participatory art experiment of ‘Transcendence Plan’(超渡計畫), participants will experience a simulation of OOBE(出體經驗), NDE(瀕死經驗) and Incarnation(化生) through specific field and meditation guide designed by artist as ritual of consciousness uploading. It will be an inner universe exploration to let participants reflect and release their depression and desire hidden in the subconsciousness with hypnosis methods, liberate themselves from the old memories and human histories, regain the original pure essence of soul and reborn on New Earth.

     ‘Digital Sarira’(數位舍利子) is the meaning that I redefine Non-fungible Token because of its attributes. ‘Sarira’(舍利子) is the pearl remained after cremation of a transhuman who has awakened and ascended before its body died as a normal human being. ‘Sarira’(舍利子) is unchangeable, just like Non-fungible Token.  In my art experiment ‘Transcendence Plan’(超渡計畫), I use Non-fungible Token as a part of the simulation of consciousness uploading ritual in the participatory art co-creating experience.

Local Posting is a series of flyers translated into the local languages of participating exhibitions. Visitors to the physical exhibition are invited to take provided copies of the black and white image and post the flyer somewhere in their local area. How would your neighbors would perceive your participation in this piece? Would they think you’re trans yourself? an ally? the opposite? Would you avoid printing or posting them in view of others? These flyers are an invitation to sit with that moment of uncertainty which makes up so much of the public lives of trans people, and examine the convenience of staying hidden. Our survival depends on visibility in some circumstances, and invisibility in others. 
What strategy will you choose? How does your own privilege affect this?
