This piece is meant to show the double edged sword that alcohol can be. Although it can be a fun factor when having a good time, it can just as easily be something negative, if abused.
This place is meant to be a visual representation of my experience with "numbing." It shows the idea that if an individual numbs themself from the bad, they numb themself from everything else too- including the good.
This piece shows a visual representation of how constant mood swings can slowly eat away at a person as time passes. This is represented by how the cards keep switching positions, growing, and deteriorating.
This piece is a visual representation at what could potentially be going on in a person's mind and life while they answer the common question "How are you?" with "I'm Good."
Artist Statement: The “Welcome Into My Mind” four part series consists of four digital art pieces that are meant to create a visual representation of what has been going on in my mind and life during this point in time of quarantine, sickness, and struggle. These four pieces consist of works that revolve around “alcoholism”, “numbing”, “mood swings”, and “cries for help.” These pieces are titled “Stop When I Want,” “The Good, The Bad, and Whatever Else,” “Mood Swings,” and “I’m Good.” -AJ Vietvu
