Artworks in this space:

Welcome to Kindle! This project was a means to delve into some of the workflow of 3D character development. The star of this piece is Iri! Take a look around to see some of the development images and sculptures. Enjoy your stay!

Here are some of the final renders done in ZBrush and Blender. I found myself taking a lot of inspiration from Renaissance ideas!

This is the T-Posed version of Iri. I initially wanted to delve into the rigging and topologizing for an animation workflow, but opted to use ZBrush's rigging tools to get to the final stages of the sculpt quicker. This is definitely going to be done in the future :)

Here are some of the concepting stages early in the process. I really wished to refine these further, but they didn't get past their rough stages of just sketch work and construction. I was actually pleasantly surprised on how helpful coming back to these drawings were. They didn't give a ton of specific information, but they did help me to get a better sense of Iri's projected energy when I needed it! Who knew concepting can be so helpful! o.o

These are the very beginnings of the 3D process. It sometimes get's really jank and messy.... but I think it's sort of interesting to see the humble beginnings from the dead-looking base model. It's like watching Iri grow up, or something like that!

These are some of shots towards the middle of the process. The hair... was something else. Such a strange thing to sculpt in 3D... It takes a lot of time, but the payoff is kind of satisfying :0

By jank... this is what I mean. Since I couldn't go for a clean rig, the artifacting was inevitable to deal with. As you can see here, transposing high poly sculpts will give you this result, and to my knowledge this can be quite normal in the process depending on what you are going for. Regardless of using this method or a clean rig, ending with a high poly sculpt will require a ton of sculpting afterwards. Luckily ZBrush has a ton of brute force sculpting tools to deal with stuff like this :D
