Mid-autumn festival is one of the most popular holidays in Vietnam. It is also known as "Children's festival". On this day, children parade on the street, while singing and carrying colorful lanterns of different sizes. There are various activities held to celebrate the festival. Families and friends gather together for dinner under the moonlight. There are also lion dances and dragon dances, adding much luster to the festival
As a kid, I grew up with lots of memories about the festival. The more I grow up, the more detached I am to the holiday. This exhibition aims to recreate and reconnect with the tradition and heritage
The festival takes place at a small ancient alley in Vietnam. Along the alley, there will be images of children enjoying the festival. Reflect underneath are glitched shadows of them indicating the festival has never been the same as before. This is the way to relive and reflect on shifting experiences overtime with child-like wonder
