After attending Mark Cuban’s 80th birthday party, we decided to reflect on the state of our bodies and their imperfect energy centers. For Orbiting the Glitch, we present an immersive body space as an anthology of disrupted and misaligned chakras. When we confront ourselves as damaged forms of an imperfect ideal we can honestly see and accept ourselves. The peak of the past 16 months has been devastating to so many, and ignoring our collective pain risks bringing us deeper into the illusions and distractions that surround us in this hyperconnected society. youWillNeverBeMe brings the viscerality of existence within a physical body to an immersive audiovisual form. There is emphasis on the diversity and different types of energies individuals may face, solidifying the unique pains that each of us face.

We imagine participants entering into the body and exploring its caves to find these disrupted energy centers within it. Each center will hold a unique audiovisual artifact representing a subverted chakra center. As the chakras are correlated with body parts, planets, foods, sounds, patterns, we have based each of these artifacts closely to relate to and perverse these attributes.

Our hope is that attendees will be able to reveal themselves in an honest way as they resonate with the pain presented in each chakra center. Upon leaving the virtual installation, they have the opportunity to reflect on themselves as imperfect beings.

A journey through misaligned chakral energies, guided by old journal entries, interplanetary malformed spiritual chanting, and strange friends. None of us are perfect and balanced, it's time we stop pretending and observe our own faults. This is the place to find the beauty in them...or the horrors.
