Resilience

This is a work that contain multiple marine creatures. I am interested into the odd appearance of the animal. I used colors and light to emphasis the weird features of them.

This multi-media work was inspired by the process of mutation. In the hunting of living and death, bone is the evidence that life had existed. Blood and flesh are destined to dry up, rot, and decay. In the end, only the bones were left underground, silent as always. It is true that people cannot expect to hear word of mouth from bones (or jawbones), but they are just like a silent phonograph, the stories were kept in their tiny cracks and traces. Qiu hopes to explore the information and power transmitted by bones through the deconstruction and distortion of animals' jawbones. They will jump out of the silent constraints and convey the life energy contained within by expressing their own sonic dynamics.  

Inspired by the ephemeral beauty of botanical forms, Chen created hybrid “animals” encased in an ambiguous, fish tank-like environment. These simulated creatures live forever in the digital space, as projections of Human’s desire to possess curious beings, as well as man-made aestheticizations of nature that lurk between the ethical boundary of imagination and reality.

A work about two parts of a whole.

Primordial pool of water facilitates different cycles of existence. 

This is a demo of a game currently in development. This recording provides insight into how the player will be exploring and interacting with the world of Nelum Pond. The game takes place in a critters town built in a lily pond. The player assumes the role of a character who is new to town, and is free to interact and socialize with villagers. The goal of the game is to befriend the residents of Nelum Pond name, and be accepted as one of them.
