Self-Love Craft Club (You are worthy of love)

Artist name Dorothea Blackmore
Artwork Description:

Self-Love Craft Club is a guerrilla kindness craftivist project encompassing the values of fat activism. These hand embroidered anti-diet culture messages have been left in public places to act as a positive interaction in someoneā€™s day, creating a moment of quiet solidarity against fatphobia between maker and recipient.

Dorothea Blackmore is a multidisciplinary artist from Medway, Kent who recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA in Textile Design. I mainly create fat positive illustrations and hand embroidery pieces. Exploring fat activism and feminism, my work challenges traditional expectations of craft and explores how it can be used as a powerful tool for social change.
